Na sua linha de pedagogia económica para o grande público, na tradição da Escola Austríaca, o Mises Institute apresenta um documentário que mostra bem o divórcio entre os defensores sem compromissos do liberalismo económico (laissez faire) e o regime monetário e financeiro vigente nas "economias de mercado" actuais (ver a transcrição aqui). Num depoimento, Hans-Hermann Hoppe vai ao fundo da questão:
